Product information

Handmade

We prioritize quality and precision in every aspect of our duvet craftsmanship, which is why we do not use stitching machines. While these machines may offer speed, their needle thickness and stitching distances often lack the refinement required for premium products.

Instead, we rely on individual sewing machines, allowing us to achieve a superior level of accuracy and detail. This method ensures clean, precise stitches that maintain the integrity and durability of our duvets while enhancing their overall aesthetic.

Easy care

The duvet can be machine washed at a temperature of up to 40°C.

Use only a very small amount of fabric softener, as it can reduce the filling power of the down. Use at low speeds and temperatures.

When washing, the clusters clump. You can shake it loosely by hand, shake it well for a few minutes.

Dry naturally, shake well after drying (best method) or Tumble dry at low temperature (alternative method).

Tumble dry only at low temperatures (less than 37°C), otherwise the down will lose some elasticity.

Hooks

Convenience meets practicality with the inclusion of hooks on our duvets, designed for easy attachment to duvet covers.

These discreet hooks keep your duvet securely in place, preventing shifting during the night and ensuring a snug, tidy fit. This thoughtful addition makes bed-making effortless and enhances your overall sleeping experience.

Stiching

Our duvets are crafted with double needle stitching, a technique that ensures exceptional durability and a sleek finish.

This stitching method not only reinforces the seams to prevent feather or down leakage but also adds an elegant, high-quality touch to the overall design. It’s a mark of craftsmanship that enhances both the look and longevity of your duvet.

Fabrics

At Aura, we are committed to providing the highest quality in fabric selection for our products. We exclusively use downproof, natural 100% cotton fabrics, ensuring breathability and a superior sleeping experience. Cotton is not only soft and natural but also highly breathable, making it ideal for use in down duvets.

Our fabrics are carefully chosen to strike a balance between durability, softness, and comfort. We understand that some customers are sensitive to noise, such as the crackling sound of certain materials. To address this, we prioritize fabrics that produce relatively low noise without compromising durability. Our range includes options from durable 230-thread-count (TC) cotton to ultra-soft 380 TC cotton, catering to various preferences. Interestingly, while higher thread counts are softer, they can sometimes generate more noise, which we take into consideration when designing our products.

All our fabrics meet the rigorous standards of Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification, ensuring they are free from harmful substances and safe for use. This commitment to quality and safety is a hallmark of our approach to crafting exceptional down products.

Premium Down Filling

At Aura Down Bedding, we use only ethically sourced, high-quality Hungarian down, known for its exceptional warmth, softness, and durability. Our down is sourced through trusted Hungarian suppliers under strict animal welfare standards, ensuring a responsible and transparent supply chain.

Our product lines offer a range of down content to suit every preference:

  • Basic: 10% down
  • Essential: 70% down
  • Premium: 90% down
  • Superior: 90% goose down
  • Excellence: 100% goose down

Down Processing

  1. Raw down is cleaned before entering the processing facility, improving purity and final product quality.

  2. The down undergoes a gentle cleaning cycle with short, high-temperature bursts to maintain cluster integrity and hygiene.

  3. The material is carefully sorted by quality and blended to ensure uniformity across each batch.

  4. To preserve loft and freshness, our bedding is filled as close to the shipping date as possible, minimizing compression during storage.

With Aura, you can trust that every duvet is crafted for comfort, longevity, and responsible sourcing.

Ethical & Traceable

Aura Down Bedding is committed to the highest standards of quality and responsibility. We proudly source our down through HDTS (Hungarian Down Traceability System) and the SafeDown initiative, ensuring full transparency and traceability from farm to product.

These systems guarantee that our down is ethically sourced, never live-plucked, and collected with strict animal welfare standards. By choosing Aura, customers support humane practices and premium, responsibly gathered Hungarian down.

Strickly no sourcing from live plucking or force-feeding sources.

Warmth & Size & Construction

Heat levels

We offer a variety of warmth levels to ensure year-round comfort, tailored to seasonal temperatures.

  • Light (Summer) – Ideal for warm weather (above 22°C), providing a breathable, lightweight option for hot nights.
  • Medium (All-year) – Suitable for year-round use (19-22°C), balancing warmth and breathability for moderate temperatures.
  • Warm (Winter) – Perfect for colder seasons (17-19°C), offering cozy insulation to keep you comfortable on chilly nights.
  • Extra Warm (Winter) – Designed for the coldest conditions (below 17°C), delivering maximum warmth for ultimate winter comfort.

Size guide

We offer a selection of standard duvet sizes to meet various needs and preferences.

  • 135 x 200 cm – Ideal for single beds or individual comfort on a shared bed.
  • 155 x 200 cm – Commonly used as a single duvet in Central Europe, providing a bit more coverage for added comfort.
  • 200 x 200 cm – Perfect for double beds, offering balanced warmth for two sleepers.
  • 260 x 235 cm – Designed for super king-sized beds, delivering maximum coverage and luxury.

Layout

Duvet layouts, often represented by grid patterns like 4 x 6 or 10 x 12, refer to the number of individual compartments within the duvet that hold the down filling. These compartments, or “boxes,” are separated by stitching or baffle walls, preventing the down from shifting and ensuring even warmth distribution.

A layout with fewer boxes, like 4×6, results in larger compartments, which can give the duvet a loftier look and feel, ideal for a cozy, warm design. In contrast, a layout with more boxes, such as 10 x 12, has smaller compartments, which often leads to a flatter, more evenly spread fill, making it suitable for lighter warmth or a sleeker appearance. The choice of layout affects both the aesthetic and functional qualities of the duvet, balancing warmth, structure, and appearance.

Construction

Baffle-Box

Our Warm and Extra warm duvets use this construction method. Baffle-box construction uses internal fabric walls between the top and bottom layers, creating three-dimensional chambers that allow the down to fully loft and expand. The baffles prevent down from shifting.

Box-Stitched

Our Medium and Light duvets use this kind of construction. Box-Stitched method involves sewing two large sheets of fabric together and then creating sewn-through box compartments that hold the down filling. These stitched compartments prevent down from shifting, ensuring even warmth distribution.
